POW 172.2 - A new success storyETON's most successful 2-way system shines with a new design and a host of progressive features The POW 172 Compression was a ground-breaking compo system - its performance (genuine 89 dB), the option of direct operation on the car radio and the high-quality workmanship typical of ETON were ground-breaking in 2010. Now the POW 172 Compression is back - in new splendour, completely revised and once again ready to become a bestseller. Visually, the system has evolved considerably, with the new satin black coating and ETON-branded rubber cap giving the basket a much more appealing appearance. The dome tweeter is now also printed and visually conveys the quality production from which the chassis originates. The cone consists of a glass/paper mix, which guarantees an absolutely harmonious sound and has been trimmed for incredibly deep bass - which has always been a feature of the POW series. The POW 172.2 is also characterised by the fact that it has no problems whatsoever with demanding music material. A new, more powerful magnet and the redesigned base plate round off the system visually. The 3 Ohm impedance of the woofer elicits a portion of extra power from the power amplifier or radio, while the 25 mm aluminium-coated tweeter serves up sparkling highs with crystal clarity and impresses with a wealth of detail. Conclusion: The POW 172 successor retains the strengths of the existing system and adds improved looks and performance. The success story continues.
