To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for our Marco Polo guests, we would like to provide some suggestions for accommodation and activities in the Rhön area.
Our workshop is situated in Gersfeld, which is regarded as the hidden capital of the Rhön. The workshop is situated in the heart of the Rhön, at the centre of Germany. We are conveniently located for easy access from all directions in Germany. The Rhön is a low mountain range of approximately 1,500 km² in the border area of the German states of Bavaria, Hesse and Thuringia. Gersfeld is situated in the eastern Hessian part of the Rhön, which is predominantly of volcanic origin. The Rhön offers a variety of activities for cyclists, hikers and skiers.
The Extratour Gersfeld hiking trail begins directly outside our workshop.
The highest mountain in the Rhön is the Wasserkuppe, situated at an elevation of 950 metres above sea level. This also represents the highest point in Hesse. The Wasserkuppe is located approximately 11 kilometres from our premises.

We are pleased to welcome you, whether you have already checked in or are simply 'passing through' with a desire for technology, upgrades and accessories. We hope that your Marco Polo experience will include 'workshop wellness' and that you will enjoy this short journey of discovery with us.
Once you have completed your journey to our premises, we would like to recommend the Café Gersfeld, which is conveniently located just a minute's walk away. It serves breakfast and homemade cakes.
Many of our customers combine their workshop appointment with a visit to the local wildlife park, or enjoy the historic market square with the opportunity to linger in the ice cream parlour Eisdiele Gelateria or in the Café Mandelrose.
The Hotel Restaurant Sonne offers a variety of culinary delights, while the Restaurant Kaufmanns provides a more sophisticated selection of country house cuisine.
Pizza and pasta are consistently popular menu items, and the Pizzaria Roma in Gersfeld offers particularly high-quality versions of these dishes.
The idyllic castle park, which encompasses the former moated castle, the Baroque castle and the middle castle, is conveniently located just a five-minute walk from our workshop. The park features a small circular path and a castle pond, offering a tranquil setting for relaxation on ergonomic park loungers. For children, there is a playground with a tower and slide, as well as swings in the upper park area.
The Hochrhönbus offers visitors the opportunity to explore the Wasserkuppe and enjoy the summer toboggan run without the need for a car.
Cyclists and hikers are encouraged to take advantage of their stay with us to discover the scenic trails, which offer routes suitable for both novice and experienced cyclists.
To explore the Rhön's field and forest paths by bike, you can hire an e-bike from natürlich Rhön. Alternatively, we can provide you with our own mountain bike (please note that you are the motor).
Furthermore, day trips to Fulda or Bad Neustadt an der Saale, which include a visit to the beautiful Neuhaus Castle, can be arranged without a car.
